The edible flower of the artichoke plant is an absolute delicacy. Sow from February in pots. Prickout early after germination. Plant from mid-May in sunny locations on well-fertilized soil. The buds are harvested just before flowering in the second year. Protect from frost. Vegetative propagation is also possible.
